The game will feature intense 5v5 dogfights, players will team up with their squadron in a thrilling Star Wars single-player story. Players will be taking a first person perspective in the pilot’s seat. Star Wars: Squadrons features support of VR on PlayStation 4 and PC with cross-play support.

Electronic Arts also announced that a gameplay reveal of Star Wars: Squadrons will take place on EA Play Live, the company all digital event taking part of Summer Game Fest that will unveil a new slate of games. EA Play Live starts on Thursday, June 18 at 4pm PDT.

After the cancellation of four Star Wars projects, Electronic Arts seems to have found the right formula to make a really good game for enthusiasts, certainly, the large developer and publisher also shows a promising sign by stating that Star Wars: Squadron will not have micro-transactions. Surely, fans will be expecting more for Electronic Arts, something more like the previous projects, Orca and Ragtag, a nice headache to have for the developer.
