Spectrum Break Will Launch for Steam on March 29th, 2018

Spectrum Break, a synth aesthetic physics platformer, is set to release worldwide on Steam for $14.99 USD for Windows and Mac on March 29th, 2018.

“Spectrum Break is a synth aesthetic, physics platformer where you reshape a level by playing it. Blocks in each level float in zero gravity and can be pushed by the player, causing them to light up in a burst of vibrant color and sound. As players progress, new block types are introduced, and puzzles get more challenging.

Features:

  • Everything can be pushed – Completely reshape a level as you play through it. Dynamic levels react to your movements, every play through will be unique.
  • Smooth gameplay and atmosphere –  Smooth gameplay, vibrant colors and synth music are hypnotic, upbeat, and calming. Enchanting music is accompanied by smooth but challenging gameplay.
  • Challenging puzzles – Your reaction time and puzzle solving skills will be put to the test as new block behaviours are introduced. 
  • Many paths to victory –  Some players rely on quick platforming skills, others on thoughtful strategy. There is no single way to play.

Bonus Challenges

After you’ve completed the game, try collecting hidden blocks in difficult to reach locations, or you can try the speedrun mode to attempt to beat the developer at his own game.

About the developers

Jason Hein is a sole proprietor in Ottawa Canada.

Jason began developing on his own in 2015 following his graduation from game development college. His first project was Game Eye 2D, a component based orthographic camera extension that tracks 2D environments. Game Eye 2D was well received, and later was used to create Spectrum Break.

Christopher is a music producer from Halifax, Nova Scotia. Chris composes music for his soundcloud, and produced sound for a youtube series called Eviscerated. Chris was introduced to Jason through personal contacts and joined the team as a contractor mid June.”
