Sony Square Starts Tomorrow, PS5 Reveal is Imminent

Lately a lot of rumors and speculation surrounding the reveal of the Sony PS5 had flooded forums around the world. Sony has increased the expectation by announcing a new event on its official website.

Sony Square showroom will take place in New York City from January 14th to February 16th.

“Celebrate 25 Years of Play with a collection of titles on PS4 and PS VR.”

While this does not suggest anything about the PlayStation 5, fans still expects the reveal of the console to take place at the event.

Sony announced the on PlayStation 4 on February 20, 2013 in New York City, during a special event to cover the PlayStation Future called ‘PlayStation Meeting’. While the description of the upcoming Sony Square NYC doesn’t mention anything related to the future, or next generation, fans are expecting a reveal as the date and place seems appropriate for Sony to repeat history.

Some journalist and analyst are expecting Sony to not attend E3 2020, while some even reporting that Microsoft knows and are ready to steal the show. This rumors combined with the disappointment some felt by Sony’s presentation at CES 2020, has now created more hype towards the PlayStation 5.

CEO Jim Ryan recently talked with Business Insider Japan, he teased that “bigger differences” in the PS5 are yet to be announced.

“There are still more unique elements for PlayStation 5 to come that separate it from previous consoles,” Ryan said. “The ‘bigger differences’ have yet to be announced.”

Certainly, Sony have played their cards very well, as the new logo has broken a record over Instagram, more than 5 million likes crushes Xbox Series X design reveal, which currently counts with 990,000 likes on Instagram. Sony is handling very good people’s hype and anticipation for their next-gen system.
