Sony Files A Trademark For The PS5

Sony has just filed a trademark for the PS5 with the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property. This has sparked more rumors about the reveal of the console to take place in February.

Ever since Sony announced that they’re skipping E3 2020, speculation for the reveal of the PlayStation 5 has made fans see every bit of information as a possible indication of the reveal of the console. It’s safe to say that Sony’s approach has been successful so far.

The previous rumor told the story of a Reddit user who found at Sony’s official website that Sony Hall is hosting privates events on February 24th and the 29th. Sony Hall is usually rented by private event organizers, so it’s more than likely that, those dates are not even related to Sony.

Sony is currently celebrating”25 Years of Play with a collection of titles on PS4 and PS VR.” on Sony Square NYC, some fans are expecting a reveal of the next-gen system to take place before February 16 when the event ends.

According to Sony, they’ve planned a very special 2020, the Japanese giant will host and participate in several events around the globe, it’s still uncertain when the PS5 will be revealed as, no official information has been released.

“We will build upon our global events strategy in 2020 by participating in hundreds of consumer events across the globe. Our focus is on making sure fans feel part of the PlayStation family and have access to play their favorite content. We have a fantastic line up of titles coming to PlayStation 4, and with the upcoming launch of PlayStation 5, we are truly looking forward to a year of celebration with our fans.”
