CI Games, the Studio behind critically acclaimed current-gen action role-playing game known as Lords of the Fallen, is currently working to bring its tactical shooter video game series back to life with latest installment in the franchise known as Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3.

The trailer, which is titled ‘3 Pillars’, sees the game’s protagonist, Jon North, undertake a mission to infiltrate a nearby mining town and assassinate a syndicate officer. The trailer highlights the three different gameplay approaches that players can take to complete each mission: sniper, ghost and warrior.

While the first two iterations of Sniper: Ghost Warrior were met with mostly mixed reviews, the third installment is definitely looking promising and is one to keep an eye on until it releases on January 27, 2017.

Check out the Gameplay Demo:

“The story of “Sniper Ghost Warrior 3” involves a U.S. commando who is sneaking behind enemy lines to take down an unknown enemy, though the gameplay demo shows said the commando is planning to take out a Russian general. A report from Eurogamer states that Russia is waging a proxy war and it’s up to the U.S. commando to tip the scales in his country’s favor.

He does this by using some of the game’s newer gameplay elements, in addition to the stealth and shooting in the previous titles. Players will now be able to use their drone to scan the environment, gain information on some of the game’s enemies and even hack the enemy’s security cameras, as in “Watch Dogs.”

Players will also have to plan out their assassinations better in “Sniper Ghost Warrior 3,” since the demo shows the U.S. commando sneaking through minefields and avoiding the guards when necessary. Eventually, players will be able to find some safe houses to rest in and a workbench to upgrade one’s sniper equipment.”
