EA Originals’ next project has been announced during last year’s E3 at EA Play and almost one month after E3 2019 the title is going to get released. Sea of Solitude is the new indie game from German studio Jo-Mei Games that revealed with a brief trailer at E3 2018 and since then its gorgeously crafted environment caught our attention enough to wait for it more than a year.
Sea of Solitude is following the story of a female protagonist known as Kay, who has to survive while stuck in a flooded city and her only chance to get away from the city and the monsters beneath the water is a small boat. Along your journey you will encounter with a dark and compelling story of Kay’s loneliness while nothing seems to get back to its happy days again. However, all of the settings are being said to be a metaphorical space within the mind of Kay. Speaking in a press release, Cornelia Gappert, CEO of Jo-Mei Games, said:
Sea of Solitude centers on the essence of loneliness and tugs on the heartstrings of its players by mirroring their own reality. It’s by far the most artistic and personal project I’ve ever created, written during a very emotional time in my life. Designing characters based on emotions was a deeply personal achievement for our team and we’re so excited for players to soon experience Kay’s powerful story of self-discovery and healing
For me, the beautiful environment and unique graphics that are lied behind the game are main sources of getting attracted by the upcoming indie title. Sea of Solitude will be available on July 5th for PS4, Xbox One and PC via Origin. The game is for pre-order now for $19.99.
