Most of us were waiting for the official announcement of Diablo 4 last year at BlizzCon but the dream didn’t come true and BlizzCon conference turned into a hell for Blizzard by revealing a mobile game for the series. However, you better don’t lose your hopes, as a new report from a French source claims Diablo 4 will be revealed this year.
According to Le Monde, Blizzard has premiered Diablo 4 in an internal presentation for employees in Paris and the game will be coming to PC and consoles in the future. The source didn’t provide more details on it, but it did mention to a sequel for Overwatch that is currently under development but we don’t know whether the game will be revealed at the upcoming BlizzCon along with the new entry for Diablo series or not.
Here is a non-accurate translation of the source on this matter:
What about the future? The Blizzard Entertainment teams have already had the right to a presentation of the highly anticipated Diablo 4 and know that a new Overwatch is in the pipes. But none will come out before 2020, at best, and the employees of Versailles do not know if they will see the color. “Activision Blizzard will make less money, but still make a lot of money,” said a veteran.
While we are standing on the edge of next-gen consoles, it would be a great time for Blizzard to reveal its upcoming projects and release them on both generations. However, don’t get surprised if again you see new mobile versions for Diablo or even Overwatch, as the studio has previously confirmed that they will put more effort on developing mobile titles.
