According to prominent leaker NateTheHate, in a recent Twitter post thanking Reddit’s Gaming Leaks & Rumors for naming him the “Leaker of the Year” for 2025, he responded to a question regarding the rumored Resident Evil: Code Veronica remake. He claimed that the remake is deep in development and is targeting a “first half of 2027” release date.
Earlier this month, prominent leaker AestheticGamer also claimed that the remake is set to be announced this year. However, despite Eva La Dare, Shiva’s voice actress from Resident Evil 5, teasing an announcement for the franchise’s 30th anniversary, AestheticGamer clarified that a Resident Evil 5 remake will not be announced this year. They also mentioned that what La Dare is teasing for March is “something else.” Back in August 2025, the leaker claimed that Albert Wesker would play a “much bigger” role in the Code: Veronica remake, with his combat unit, the H.C.F., being a “main plot point.” It’s important to note that these are all unconfirmed claims and have yet to be verified by Capcom. Meanwhile, Resident Evil Requiem is scheduled to launch on February 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam.
Yes, Code Veronica is being remade & deep in development. Target of release is first half 2027.
