Playstation 5 Have a Pro Model at Launch – Rumor

With the launch of the next console generation right around the corner, the rumor mill is abuzz with theories. The latest one has to do with what will be available at launch for the Playstation 5. The new rumor right now is that the Playstation 5 will have both a base model and a pro model at launch. This is incredibly exciting and honestly, makes sense given how the current generation is going.

This information is coming from Zenji Nishikawa, a Japanese journalist, who has gotten other predictions correct in the past. He was one of the people who was talking about the Nintendo coming out with a new Switch variant. He was talking about that all the way back in October of last year. Before that, he also was the one who had claimed that Playstation4 was going to have a Pro. Again, he was correct. So when it comes to rumors, always approach them with a grain of salt, but in this case it is worth noting.

It would make sense that Sony would want to have a high end option available at launch. This would give them an opportunity to offer the high end experience, that consoles fans love, right from the beginning. Not to mention, it would probably help them recoup the some of the cost out of the gate with two different models selling well out of the gate.

The success of the Playstation 4 Pro can not be understated. It has been stated in the past by Sony, that one in every five Playstation 4’s sold was a pro. If you look at todays sales of Playstation 4, that would be approximately 20 million consoles just in Pro sales. That is incredible for a console that was Not there at launch and that has a cheaper model available. So Sony definitely knows what it is doing.

The current rumor mill is pegging the reveal for Playstation 5 in February, so hopefully we will learn more then.
