Disco Elysium Finally Has a Release Date

Disco Elysium has gone through multiple push backs and a name change, but we finally have a release date. We even have a new trailer. Check it out.

They also released this blurb:

Disco Elysium is a groundbreaking open world role playing game. You’re a detective with a
unique skill system at your disposal and a whole city block to carve your path across. Interrogate unforgettable characters, crack murders or take bribes. Become a hero or an absolute disaster of a human being.

This game looks incredibly unique. It takes elements from multiple genres, from point and click adventures to turned based rpg’s. It honestly is difficult to tell where the story in this game is going to go and that is a good thing.

Disco Elysium’s uniqueness is a definite plus. The art style that looks dirty, grimy, and lived in. The ambience of what seems like a minimalist soundtrack. It all oozes atmosphere, which a lot of point and click games now and days are missing.

The Character design and creation also seems interesting. The fact that you have such a broad spectrum of things that can happen to your character, guarantees added replayability. The skills are promising to offer “wild skills” to use, that will change how you approach different scenarios. There is also clothing and tons of equipment options to choose from to further reinforce player selection and choice.

Disco Elysium is being made by ZAUM Studios, which is small Estonian studio. For such a small team, this game really seems ambitious. I am of the camp right now that even if this game fails, the effort and quality of certain elements of this game will definitely inspire a cult following.

Disco Elysium release on PC via Steam and GOG on October 15, 2019.
