New Total War: WARHAMMER II Update Patch Notes Revealed

With the impending release of ‘The Shadow & The Blade’ DLC for Total War: WARHAMMER II on December 12, 2019, Creative Assembly will also be releasing an automatic update alongside the new content.

The update is titled ‘The Potion of Speed Update.’ According to the Total War: WARHAMMER II blog post by Al Bickham, the update is “bringing with it a huge array of content revisions, balances, bug fixes, and quality of life improvements to the Eye of the Vortex and Mortal Empires campaigns.”

Players who haven’t purchased ‘The Shadow & The Blade’ will still be able to experience the distinctive features of Deathmaster Snikch, Malus Darkblade, and their attendant factions (Hag Graef and Clan Eshin) on the campaign maps.

The most important aspect of the ‘Potion of Speed Update’ is the level of maintenance coming to Total War: WARHAMMER II, such as speeding up the end-turn process so that players don’t have to wait as long between turns for the AI to finish their movements. In addition, Faction Name changes will be arriving with the update to reduce confusion and improve consistency.

The faction name changes are as follows:

  • The Empire → Reikland
  • Dwarfs → Karaz-a-Karak
  • Greenskins → Black Crag
  • Vampire Counts → Sylvania
  • Vampire Coast → The Awakened
  • Bretonnia → Couronne
  • Wood Elves → Talsyn
  • Norsca → World Walkers

Other changes are being made with the update, such as campaign balance, recruitment and unit unlock changes, Clan Pestilens tweaks, Black Ark rework, Battle AI changes, Hidden Item changes, Campaign-Exclusive Units, bug fixes, achievement updates, and more.

The full patch notes for the ‘Potion of Speed Update’ can be found on the Total War blog.
