New Pokémon Revealed: Salandit

New Pokémon Revealed: Salandit

Pokémon creator Junichi Masada has revealed a brand new Pokemon at Japan Expo. This particular Pokémon is Salandit who is a Toxic Lizard Pokemon (Fire/Poison). Salandit emits toxic gas, together with flames, from the base of its tail. This poisonous gas has a sweet smell, and anyone who unknowingly breathes it in will become dizzy. Salandit is not a very powerful Pokémon, but its cunning nature allows it to battle fiercely by throwing its opponents off balance. Salandit females not only release toxic gases, they can also emit pheromones that attract males of all species, including Pokémon and humans. Inhaling these pheromones may cause opponents to be controlled by Salandit’s will.

Salandit has the Corrosion Ability, a new Ability that no other Pokemon has possessed before. With the Corrosion Ability, it becomes possible to inflict the Poisoned status condition even on Steel- and Poison-type Pokemon.

Pokémon Sun & Moon will release for Nintendo 3DS in Japan and North America on November 18, and in Europe on November 23, 2016.

Check out the Trailer:

“The debut video below shows off some of Salandit’s moves as it faces other recently revealed Pokémon. It even faces Komala which we know as always being asleep but we did not get to see it try and be inflicted with poisoned which supposedly cannot happen. These new abilities are definitely taking things in an interesting direction.”
