Moon Studios, makers of the Ori series, are reportedly going to be working on an action RPG after the release of Ori and the Will of the Wisps. This rumor comes from a job posting that the company has made recently. Keep in mind that job postings don’t equate to facts. The direction this studio wants to go can still change before anymore games get announced by them.

The job listing that says it is looking for Senior Game Designers reads as follows:

“After redefining the Metroidvania genre with the Ori series, our next goal is to revolutionize the ARPG genre.”

This is pretty exciting news for Ori fans. Moon Studios blew everyone away with Ori and the Blind Forest and are expected to do the same with their upcoming release for the series. To see how they could change up the action RPG formula would be fascinating.

It will be interesting as well to see if they will continue to use the Ori franchise for this endeavor or come up with something new. Depending on where they go with this action RPG, they could at the very least use the world they’ve already created, even if Ori isn’t in it.

The job listing also says that it wants someone who wants “to work on an RPG that dares to innovate and go far beyond what the genre has offered players thus far.” They encourage people to apply who have enjoyed game series like Diablo, Legend of Zelda, and Dark Souls.

The directions that this new game could go are close to limitless, so gamers will have to wait and see what Moon Studios will have in store for them in the coming years.
