Deep Silver and 4A Games recently announced Metro Redux for Nintendo Switch, compiling “definitive” versions of both Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light. The published did not reveal any performance or technical information about the game. wccftech knew how important performance is on a system that’s capable on working on 720 and 1080p, they’ve reached Koch Media for more information, and today they report how will Metro Redux run on the handheld device.
We received word back from our contact and are happy to share that Metro Redux will run at a locked 30FPS in 720p in portable mode. While docked, the game will render in up to 1080p resolution, which suggests that the game will use dynamic rendering based on system load.
The original version of Metro 2033 and Last Light ran at 30FPS in 720p on both the PS3 and Xbox 360. 2014’s re-releases on the PS4 and Xbox One, bundled as Metro Redux, ran at 60FPS in 1080p on PS4 and 912p on Xbox One.
Metro Redux contains all the Metro: Last Light DLC, that expands the main experience with a 10 hours of bonus content. Two play styles will be available: ‘Survival’ will let players approach the campaign as a slow burn survival horror. And ‘Spartan’ mode will give players more freedom and combat skills in order to survive.
The Metro Redux boxed edition will feature Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light with all DLC on one 16GB cartridge. No additional download is required. ‘The Ranger Cache’ pre-order pack is now available, containing a pin badge set, game case sleeve, doble sided alternative artwork inlay, 4 double sided art cards and A2 double sided poster.
Players can also individually download each game from the Nintendo e-Shop. The collection is launching on February 28, 2020.
