Mafia III developer Hanger 13 and publisher 2K Games have released a new trailer showing how they’re bringing the city of New Bordeaux to life in the game.
Based on New Orleans, the city boasts nine distinct districts complete with the jazz clubs and French district its real life inspiration is famous for. All areas of the city can be explored freely with the story moving from area to area.
Mafia III is set in 1968 and casts players as Lincoln Clay, an orphan and a Vietnam War veteran who wants to build his own crime syndicate to take on the Italian mob.

“New Orleans itself provides the developers at Hangar 13 with plenty of opportunities and ideas, however, the team did not feel married to creating a city exactly as it was back in the 1960’s. Blackman explained the sorts of liberties they’ve taken with New Orleans and why they did so.”
