Lost Judgement

Lost Judgment Announced for Xbox and PlayStation

Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio officially announced the Judgement sequel Lost Judgment for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and old-gen hardware. The game will launch worldwide on September 24.

Similar to the first game, Lost Judgement stars Takayuki Yagami, a detective investigating a murder in Tokyo. The game will feature an open world with different locations such as Yokohama and downtown Tokyo.

Here is what Toshihiro Nagoshi, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio Executive Producer said about the new project.

In this sequel, Lost Judgment, we sought to overcome the many walls we created for ourselves in the first game. The script writing required countless hours to get right and we recorded over 1,000 minutes of voiced dialogue for the cutscenes.

Not to mention the pressure to create something even greater than the original. However, we heard from fans around the world who wanted a sequel. And our desire to give the fans what they wanted only grew from there.

This time around, the story came about after a lot of heated debated. So I’m confident we’ve created a game unlike anything you’ve seen before. We’ve superseded the original in a lot of ways, and I hope the result is something you enjoy.

Lost Judgement keeps the same real-time combat from the first game. Nagoshi told IGN that “the Yakuza series has been transformed into a turn-based RPG. On the other hand, over the year, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has accumulated resources and know-how of making flashy and exhilarating action games that are effortless to enjoy. We decided that we should let our signature action gameplay live on through Lost Judgment.”

Lost Judgment will feature noir narrative and action-packed investigations in a mystery thriller story. Investigations have received an upgrade, players will have to tail, chase down, and use disguises against suspects to solve the mysteries that only get deeper as they unfold. The sequel has new actions, showing off Yagami’s athleticism, stealth, and wiretapping skills.
