LIVE A LIVE Remake Coming to PlayStation and PC Next Month

Square Enix and developer historia announced that the remake for turn-based JRPG LIVE A LIVE will launch on April 27 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam. Additionally, a demo was released and is currently available on the PlayStation Store and Steam. The demo lets players play through the game’s first three stories with save data being transferable to the full game. A PlayStation and Steam announcement trailer was also released.

The game’s details via Square Enix:

The legendary RPG is reborn…

Originally released for Super Nintendo Entertainment System, LIVE A LIVE is reborn in HD-2D—a fusion of pixel graphics and 3D CG—and comes to Switch!

Seven different stories featuring different protagonists, time periods, and gameplay styles await. In The Wild West, a wanderer with a bounty on his head fights for his life. In the Twilight of Edo Japan, a shinobi undertakes a secret mission. Experience these tales in any order you choose—the adventure is yours to control. What other stories will you uncover on the horizon…?

Featuring character designs by acclaimed manga artists Gosho Aoyama, Osamu Ishiwata, Yoshinori Kobayashi, Kazuhiko Shimamoto, Yumi Tamura, Yoshihide Fujiwara, and Ryouji Minagawa.

Also including new works by Octopath Traveler‘s Naoki Ikushima, and majestic rearrangements carried out under the supervision of the original composer, Yoko Shimomura.

The original director, Takashi Tokita, has returned as producer to oversee development in its entirety.

With impactful moments preserved and gameplay refined for a modern audience, this re-imagination promises an unforgettable experience not only for fans of the original, but first-time players as well.
