Update: Xbox One X Project Scorpio Limited Edition Announced

It was announced on the Microsoft’s Gamescom 2017 livestream, the Xbox One X limited edition, aka the Project Scorpio Edition with a new trailer of the limited edition with Project Scorpio on the console as well as its custom controller. Also the Xbox One X website revealed the pre-order details of the new limited edition.

Check out the Gamescom trailer and the unboxing video of the Xbox One X Project Scorpio Limited Edition:

Here’s what it is included in the Project Scorpio Limited Edition:

  • “Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition console, with “Project Scorpio” inscribed on both the console and controller
  • Project Scorpio Edition wireless controller
  • Limited edition Xbox One X vertical stand
  • HDMI cable (4K capable)
  • AC power cable
  • 14-day Xbox Live Gold trial
  • 1 month Xbox Game Pass subscription trial

Microsoft said that the Project Scorpio edition was designed “to celebrate both our heritage and the power and precision that we are bringing into our future.” The system and controller each sport the words “Project Scorpio” printed on them–the system features it on the left side of the front, while the controller has it written between the d-pad and right analog stick. There’s also a “sophisticated and dynamic graphic pattern across the exterior,” and Microsoft notes that the packaging was inspired by the first Xbox.

Additionally, this limited edition comes with an “exclusive” vertical stand, giving players the flexibility to stand the system upright if they wish. It’s unclear if it’s only the design of the stand that makes it exclusive or if a different version will also be sold for standard Xbox One X systems.

Pre-orders for the Scorpio Edition are already live. Microsoft says only a “limited number” of the Scorpio Edition are set to be sold and that pre-ordering will be the only way to get one.

The Scorpio Edition launches on November 7.

Microsoft also revealed that their Xbox Design Lab, the program in which players can design their own controllers, expands and will be available on 24 new European countries starting tomorrow.
