John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando Announced For PC and Consoles

During the Summer Game Fest live stream, publisher Focus Entertainment and developer Saber Interactive announced the first-person zombie shooter John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando. The game will launch sometime in 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Epic Games Store. An announcement trailer was also revealed. In John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando, players “take control of one of the commandos, team up with your friends and send the Sludge God and its horde of things-that-should-never-be back to the underworld.” 

John Carpenter commented on the game in a press release saying:

“It’s exciting to be collaborating on a new video game with Focus and Saber. Look, I really like shooting zombies. They keep telling me that they’re called ‘the infected.’ Please. They’re ghouls, dude. They blow up real good and there are a ton of them. People are going to love this game.”

Focus Entertainment managing director John Bert:

After World War Z, Space Marine II, Insurgency, SnowRunner, and many others, Toxic Commando is a new entry into the successful long-term relationship between Focus and Saber. In the near future, an experimental attempt to harness the power of the Earth’s core ends in a terrifying disaster: the release of the Sludge God.
