Horizon Zero Dawn Movie Adaptation Announced

PlayStation Productions and Columbia Pictures have announced a movie adaptation of Horizon Zero Dawn. The movie is currently in development in collaboration with Columbia Pictures. “Columbia Pictures and PlayStation Productions are at the early stages of developing a film adaptation of the award-winning Horizon Zero Dawn… Just imagine, Aloy’s beloved origin story set in a vibrant, far future world filled with the giant machines, brought to you for the first time on the big screen,” said PlayStation Productions head Asad Qizilbash. The game was once set to be adapted into a series on Netflix, with The Umbrella Academy showrunner Steve Blackman set to write the show. However, after years of development the series was never created.

The game’s details via the developer:

Earth is ours no more.

Experience the critically acclaimed Horizon Zero Dawn with stunning new visuals and upgraded features.

In a far future where colossal machines roam and rule the Earth, pockets of humanity survive in unique tribes among the lush, overgrown ruins of our long-lost civilization.

Take up bow and spear as Aloy, a young machine hunter and outcast of her tribe, as she discovers her origins, the truth of this mysterious world, and her own destiny to save it from impending doom.

On her journey, Aloy will come across unique tribes, lively settlements, and compelling characters and companions.

But this open world is also teeming with wildlife and danger. Awe-inspiring yet deadly hostile machines patrol the majestic landscape, corrupted by an unknown force.

In combat, you will unleash devastating, tactical attacks utilizing an exciting arsenal of weapons against fearsome machines and nefarious rival factions.

Horizon Zero Dawn is a multi-award-winning action role-playing game and this Remastered edition brings to life the beloved wilds of Aloy’s world in even higher fidelity with the power and potential of the PlayStation 5 console.
