See what the automated future holds for humanity in this new story trailer for Headlander, the far out action-platformer from the fine Double Fine folks and published by Adult Swim Games. Find Your-topia on this edenic space station; be free of all your cares and worries―except maybe the mysterious artificial intelligence controlling humanity’s remnants.
Headlander is a retro-futuristic, action-adventure game set in a world inspired by 70’s science fiction. It is a world of automation, a utopia gone wrong in which all of humanity have transferred their minds into robotic imposter bodies and are ruled by a deranged computer. Brought to you by Double Fine Productions (Psychonauts, Broken Age) and Adult Swim Games (Duck Game, Jazzpunk), Headlander is guaranteed to be a far-out head trip.
The game will launch for PlayStation 4 and PC (Steam) on July 26, publisher Adult Swim Games announced.
Check out the Trailer:
“At the start of the game you can select from three different heads as your player character, and solving the mystery of who you are and why you’re the only human left is one of the major plot points of the game. Luckily, you can dock that noggin into plenty of other things — humanoid Citizen and Shepherd bodies, robot dogs, turrets, computer terminals, and robot vacuum cleaners; anything with a universal docking ring will accept the connection.”
