Responding to a question asking if he’s heard anything about the title, he responded with “Yes”, but also clarified that he’s “Working to get consensus on info and extract the truth from it all.” “One bit of info I was given suggested it would happen at noon today – which has come and gone,” he continued. “I’m not going to share anything until I have a consensus on specifics.”

Mike Straw, a writer for Insider Gaming, recently tweeted, “It’s happening soon enough. Just be ready.” Additionally, Insider GabeFollower revealed on Discord that “nothing changed” from their previous information that Valve is “aiming for a 2025 announcement.” All these comments fuel claims that an announcement for the game is coming soon. With events like The Game Awards around the corner, and the fact that today mark’s the series’ 25th anniversary, it’s safe to say that an announcement is at least possible.
