God Of War Ragnarok Could Be Delayed To 2022

According to Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, God of War Ragnarok may have been delayed. The game was expected to launch later this year.

Jason Schreier was recently asked when the God of War Ragnarok would be formally delayed. The journalist replied saying “I think it was delayed months ago and will be formally announced whenever they next talk about it.”

Sony Interactive Entertainment announced God of War Ragnarok during a PlayStation event in September 2020, the company stated that the game would launch in 2021.

Santa Monica Studios has not provided an update on the game’s development and the teaser trailer showed only a logo. This has led fans to expect that the game is not ready to launch in 2021.

Earlier rumors claimed that Roger Clark, the Red Dead Redemption 2 actor, would play Thor in God of War Ragnarok. Clark has denied all rumors affirming that it’s only based on the speculation on social media. There are also rumors affirming that Sony will launch the game on PC, but Sony Interactive Entertainment has not confirmed or denied the rumors.

It’s also rumored that the game could be pushed to 2022 to give the marketing team more time to make the game desirable for new audiences.

In related news, Sony provided an update on the release of Horizon Forbidden West stating that the game will be launching this year. The Japanese tech giant failed to mention Ragnarok which suggests that there might be a change of plans with the launch of the highly-anticipated game.

God of War: Ragnarok will follow the events of the acclaimed reboot of the franchise, the game is based on Norse mythology and will take place in ancient Norway. Kratos and his young son Atreus will be facing Ragnarok, a series of events that will see the deaths of the Norse gods.
