According to Daniel Ahmad, Senior Analyst at Niko Partners, MiHoYo’s Genshin Impact is now the most successful game to come from China, the game has managed to earn over $100 million in less than two weeks.

MiHoYo’s adventure RPG is cross-platform and features cross-save, the game is also F2P while avoiding to be pay-to-win. According to MiHoYo, the launch is just the beginning of Genshin Impact’s journey.

Players are now exploring Mondstadt and Liyue Harbor, two of the seven major cities in Teyvat.  Each location features unique cultures, stories, and vast surrounding countryside, and both full of a diversity of creatures, monsters, mysteries, and hidden treasures.

The game will continue to expand with more cities, follow-up stories, new characters, and seasonal events through live-service updates to enrich the gameplay and exploration of the world of Teyvat. Future patches will also seek to continually optimize Genshin Impact’s technical performance for each platform.

Starting on November 11, the Unreconciled Starts event will go live at Genshin Impact Version 1.1, an upcoming Version 1.2 will arrive on December 23 and will feature a new area called Dragonspire, the new location will feature its own unique event. Version 1.3 will launch in February 2021 and will add the Lantern Rite event.

According to MiHoYo, the development team is confident to roll out a new version of the game every six weeks, those updates will add new activities and events that will reward participants with new items and experiences. Genshin Impact will add cultural events matching real-world calendar events, confirmed events are Ludi Harpastum and the Windbloom Festival in Mondstadt, as well as the Lantern Rite and Moonchase Festival in Liyue.

Genshin Impact takes players to the world of Teyvat, a land ruled by seven elemental gods known as the Archons. The players take the role of the ”Traveler,” as they embark on a journey to discover the fate of their lost sibling and unveils the mysterious secrets of this world along the way. In the course of their journey, players can explore a wondrous world of diverse cultures and terrain, join forces with over 20 playable characters, master the art of elemental combat and exploration, and unravel the countless mysteries that Teyvat holds in store.
