The official YouTube account hosting Nagoshi Studio’s title Gang of Dragon has seemingly been taken offline. The channel, which previously hosted the game’s reveal trailer, is no longer accessible. This follows recent reports that NetEase Games has halted funding for the project. As a result, the game may be at risk of cancellation, as a new funding source has likely not been secured.
According to a recent Bloomberg article, NetEase told Nagoshi Studio that it will stop funding its upcoming game GANG OF DRAGON this month. This likely means the game is currently at risk of cancellation. The company reportedly said it will “cut off funding” to the studio due to the increasing development costs and overhead required to complete the game, as well as the fact that the studio has yet to ship a title. The report claims NetEase discovered that the game would require an additional $44.4 million to be completed, which prompted the company to cut ties with the studio. However, the report’s sources also claim that the studio intends to look for funding elsewhere and that NetEase has allowed the studio to continue development on the title while it seeks funding.
