Hyper Light Drifter and Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden is set to be replaced by Fez next week on Epic Games Store. From August 22 to August 29 Polytron’s 2D puzzler Fez will be available for free to all EGS users.
Fez was originally launched on Xbox 360 back in 2012. One year later the game came Steam and during the following year it hit PlayStation family as well. Fez is actually a 2D puzzle-platforming game that is set in a 3D world, where you can look at the things from four different perspectives allowing you to solve puzzles and find new paths. The idea is a bit like mobile’s famous Monument Valley game, but with pixel graphics.
Fez is one of the critically-acclaimed games of its time that succeeded to get the Metascore of 91 on PC. the game is now available on iOS as well, but while you can play it for free on Epic Games Store, there’s no need to pay for it on other devices.
The next free game after Fez on Epic Games Store is yet to be known.
