Epic Games Store’s Next F2P Games Announced

Epic Games has announced that the tycoon sim Railway Empire and the narrative adventure Where the Water Tastes Like Wine will be available for free on the Epic Games Store.

While subscribers wait for the next wave of free to keep games, Epic Games is giving away Spellbreak and Into the Breach.

Proletariat’s Spellbreak is a multiplayer action-spellcasting game where players master elemental magic and cast powerful spell combinations to dominate other players across the Hollow Lands.

Proletariat’s Design Director, Jesse Kurlancheek revealed that the development team is hard at work on the first patches of the game, in the following weeks they will announce the roadmap for future updates. The development team’s vision is to deliver an on-going story over the coming years, introducing new combat systems, classes, gauntlets, and runes.

Check the launch cinematic trailer down below:

It’s been more than two years since we first released a playable pre-alpha build to playtesters to gauge their feedback. The art was placeholder and created by programmers, the gameplay systems would change dramatically (in some cases multiple times), and the number of players would go from a few dozen to hundreds of thousands, but we always kept the core of the game: a dynamic action-spellcasting combat system that allowed you to be a powerful battlemage. It’s what resonated and got you excited to play and us excited to build, going all the way back to version .1.

Into the Breach, is a turn-based strategy video game developed by Subset Games, an indie team established by Justin Ma and Matthew Davis. Into the Breach is their second game, following FTL: Faster Than Light. It features writing by Chris Avellone and music composed by Ben Prunty.

The remnants of human civilization are threatened by gigantic creatures breeding beneath the earth. You must control powerful mechs from the future to hold off this alien threat. Each attempt to save the world presents a new randomly generated challenge in this turn-based strategy game from the makers of FTL.
