E3 Announces New Awards Show

E3 still manages to maintain its relevancy each year as THE conference to watch. This year might not be as hands on, since the event has opted for a digital only event, but the anticipation is still mounting for the reveals we might be able to see. And if you didn’t want to wait to see your favorite games get some form of recognition, you will not have, as E3 is creating an official awards show to follow the event. This award show will be run by the events organizer, the ESA

According to the official E3 website the ESA will be turning to multiple big name publications to help the Award the best looking games that appear this year. Editors from IGN, GameSpot, PC Gamer, and GamesRadar+ will decide the winners. The announcement of these winners will take place on the last day of the showing, June 15th. Only games taking part in the E3 event will be eligible for these awards.

While the event has often had awards given out in the past, they have been independent of ESA.  It begs the question, how will involving these publications in a bigger award show effect their own?

According to Stanley Pierre-Louis, President & CEO of the ESA. “The broadcast is going to be packed with exciting announcements and reveals, and celebrating innovative publishers and developers is an ideal way to close E3 2021.” Since E3 is basically already an event packed with exciting announcements and reveals it should be interesting to see what this means.

The event itself is set to be hosted by hosted by Greg MillerJacki Jing and Alex “Goldenboy” Mendez. Besides just reveals you can also expect “publisher press conferences, developer interviews, panel discussions and much more.”

E3 will be held between June 12- June 15. It will be available to all online though any of their channels:

You can expect plenty of coverage on E3 on our part.
