E3 2018: Star Wars Battlefront 2 New Updates Showcased

At EA Play today, EA revealed that the next content season for Star Wars Battlefront 2 will focus on Clone Wars.

A new Geonosis map will be added, including the largest level ever in Battlefront. Battlefront will also add playable heroes including Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, Count Dooku, and General Grievous.

DICE says this is the largest map ever made for Battlefront 2. Since the battles will take place during the prequel era, DICE is introducing new heroes and villains from the time-period. DICE announced that heroes Obi-Wan and Anakin will be joining the game later this year, and from the villain’s side is General Grievous.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is currently readying content from Solo: A Star Wars Story. But new modes are being prepared including a new starfighter mode focusing on dogfights using hero ships, and an epic war mode for multi-stage campaigns like Battlefield.

Although Battlefront 2 kicked off with a rocky start following controversy over loot boxes, the team is committed to building out Battlefront 2, according to one of the developers on stage.

It wasn’t the only Star Wars news announced during EA’s E3 2018 press conference, either. Respawn Entertainment is working on a new Star Wars title called Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order that will take place between Star Wars: Episode III and Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope. It will be released next holiday season.
