Dragon Ball: Breakers Announced And Adorable

One of the cutest takes on the Dragon Ball series to be made into a video game, Dragon Ball: Breakers is a 7v1 multiplayer game that explores what happens to all the random people in the world during those 40 episodes our heroes go off to train and grow stronger.

An asymmetrical action game, Dragon Ball: Breakers will see a group of players take the role of citizens in a world where superhumans can blow up buildings by pointing a finger at them. they will be tasked with surviving and escaping from big bads such as Cell, Kid Buu, and Friezaas they attempt to slay them. It’s basically a far more adorable version of Friday The 13th: The Game.

Among the survivors trying to escape will also be series regulars Bulma and Oolong. While the optimal way to win will be to work as a team, players are not required to do so. Players can escape in capsule pods, or even use a time machine if they wish to be selfish.

Since the focus is on players taking the role of random citizens that populate the world, players will be able to fully customize their character. These can be bought using in-game currency or a monetization system that will be in the game. While Oolong will retain his ability to shapeshift from the show it is unclear if other characters will have power-like abilities. Players will get items in-game such as grappling hooks or Frieza Force space pods that will aid them.

On the converse side, the villains will have a range of powerful abilities they can use to hunt down players.  Villains will also have the ability to evolve, such as Cell being able to transform from Imperfect Cell to Perfect Cells.

The game will take place in the Xenoverse universe and will event allow players to link their save data between the two. It is being developed by Dimps and will release in 2022 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. A closed beta is currently slated simply as ‘coming soon’.
