Death Stranding Used to Have Cliff Without Cigarette Until Mikkelsen Changed Kojima’s Mind

The latest trailer for Death Stranding has so much to offer in case of characters, story and gameplay. While still it’s not easy to figure out Kojima’s puzzle, at least our knowledge on good side and bad sides of the story has been updated. However, there is a character in between that we don’t really know which side he is. Cliff, played by Mads Mikkelsen, seems to be one of those main antagonists that have so much words to say and change your mind on the whole story, just like what Mikkelsen did to Kojima without saying a word.

Today Hideo Kojima take into his Twitter account and shared some interesting info on Cliff and how his personality has been changed by Mikkelsen himself. “Cliff played by Mads in DS trailer is a heavy smoker,” said Kojima. “When I first wrote script, Cliff wasn’t a smoker but I changed his character setting after seeing him smoke during the break of filming.”

This is really great that his gesture in smoking is effective enough that has made Kojima to add a lot of smoking scenes to Mikkelsen’s scripts in the game.

Death Stranding will be coming exclusively to PS4 on November 8. Don’t miss our analysis on the game’s latest trailer that went live two days ago. Also check out Gaming Instincts on Twitter to get latest news as soon as possible.
