Cyberpunk 2077 Will Feature Minigames Such as Boxing and Hacking

CD Projekt RED not only has a flair for developing RPG titles, but also it has a genius for creating innovative mini-games in them, that turn out to be entertaining enough to become a standalone title. Today, Gwent is a popular card game from the Polish studio, which also represented as a base structure for critically acclaimed, story-driven Thronebreaker, but if you look at Gwent’s origin, it’s just part of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt that you might’ve ignored when you were playing it. Good news is Cyberpunk 2077 will also have this kind of mini-games.

Confirmed through a “Ask Me Anything” thread on Reddit, Powel Sasko revealed that in Cyberpunk 2077 players will get access to a variety of mini-games, though this time around there will be no Gwent. According to Sasko, Boxing, Hacking, Car Racing and Shooting will be some of the noticeable mini-games in Night City. While three of them looks familiar, I think CDPR’s surprise in mini-games is Hacking, which seems to have interesting mechanics and might reach the level Gwent if suggests hours of entertaining and rewarding content for us.

In other news, lead quest designer at CDPR confirmed that based on your decisions in character creation part, you will start the game in a different location.

Cyberpunk 2077 is slated to release on April 16 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
