Cyberpunk 2077 Features Locations Out of the Night City Called “Badlands”

Following the last piece of today’s long thread of Cyberpunk 2077 information, we are going to take a look at Night City, especially its borders and areas out of the city called Badlands.

While CD Projekt RED hasn’t shown us anything about the regions out of Night City, lead designer at the studio Pawel Sasko revealed new details on the game’s map and what it really encompasses. According to Sasko, you will be able to go out of Night City and visit some destroyed areas buried under the dirt. This is where they call it Badlands and is home to Nomads; group of low-life people that live in their vehicles out of the city, surviving by working for fixers and doing a wide variety of dirty jobs.

While Night City has got different conquerors in every region of it, for the world out of the Night City there is only one king and that’s the division of Nomad. The interesting part is, you are able to join Nomad and become a part of this slumdog society. Sasko says:

The Badlands are the surrounding district around the Night City. Players can leave Night City and just explore that area – an area that is mostly sort of destroyed basically after all the droughts and everything that happened in the 50 years from 2020 to ‘77. And you can explore that, there are specific quests prepared for that, also open world content, so that’s definitely covered. It’s not only the city that you’re visiting.

You can be one of the nomads as a player and you can start there, being part of a family of the Nomads. You could call them a tribe that is living in cars and they’re just driving over Badlands. They’re doing various jobs for fixers, and for people in the city, and doing various deals – I don’t want to disclose too much because not to spoil the story.

In other news from Cyberpunk 2077, developers confirmed that players will only have access to ground vehicles with no boats and flying machines available to be driven freely by V. Also it’s worth noting that the game will feature multiple endings depending on your choices throughout the story.

Cyberpunk 2077 is slated to launch on April 16 in 2020 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
