Abandoned is the latest project from Blue Box Game Studios, the game is a “cinematic first-person horror survival shooter” that will be coming exclusively to the PlayStation 5 in Q4 2021.
Abandoned’s director, Hasan Kahraman affirms that the game is at an early development stage, a gameplay trailer will be revealed soon.
Abandoned follows the story of Jason Longfield, who wakes up in a strange forest. Not remembering how he got there, our protagonist will find out that he was kidnapped and brought there for a dark purpose. It’s up to the players to fight for survival and find a way out of the forest.
“We want to deliver a uniquely personal gameplay experience, one that feels realistic.” Says Kahram in a blog post. “Every event has an influence on your character. If Jason is out of breath after sprinting (or is afraid), his firing accuracy will suffer.”
The development team at Blue Box Game Studios is working on producing a cinematic game, the game is not an action thriller, players will control a slow character who is not experienced with guns. Players will have to hide and plan every shot before pulling the trigger.
We want you to be nervous come each and every enemy encounter. To be aware that a wrong move can be the deciding factor between surviving a combat scenario or not.
In regards to the rumor that Hideo Kojima was involved in the development of Abandoned, Blue Box Game Studios has released a public statement denying any collaboration with Kojima Productions.
We received several emails regarding the Hideo Kojima rumor. We have no association with Hideo Kojima nor do we claim to have any association nor was it our intention to claim such a statement. We are a small group of developers working on a passionate title we wanted to work on for a long time.
We have been assisting other studios in the past with their projects and we wanted to work on our very first big project. While it is true that we’ve been working on small projects in the past, we certainly didn’t use that for marketing purposes. We hope this has clarified this matter and hope to see you all in our very first gameplay reveal of Abandoned.
