Bulletstorm 2

Bulletstorm 2 Would Be in The Works if The Audience Gets Big Enough, According to Developer

People Can Fly is one of the well-known Polish studios that made a name for itself before the appearance of CD Projekt RED. The studio has gone through a lot since the day it has founded to survive in the industry and stand on its own. However, they’ve always done good in making shooter games and Outriders is attempting to be a great approval to the claim. But before getting into Outriders, we were thinking of Bulletstorm 2 being the next project for People Can Fly, and CEO of the studio is here to answer why it didn’t happen.

Sebastian Wojciechowski, CEO at People Can Fly, has had an interview with Eurogamer recently, through which he explained about the plans for Bulletstorm 2. Regarding the studio owns the rights for Bulletstorm’s IP, it’s possible to see a sequel for 2011’s first-person shooter title, but Sebastian believes that at first they need to gather a bigger community for the series. Bulletstorm received mostly positive reviews when it launched 8 years ago but the sales didn’t meet the expectations of Electronic Arts, publisher of the game at the time. In order to guarantee a considerable amount of sales, People Can Fly sees it as a vital requirement to bring more gamers to the series. Wojciechowski said:

We want this IP to have its second life. We’re still not sure what that means but obviously since this is our IP – we own the IP – and the IP is known and has its fans, we would like to do something about it.

We just need to think about how to make sure the audience will be bigger than [that of Bulletstorm 1], and that’s something we would need to work a bit more on going forward with this IP – if we decide to ever come back to it!

However, until Summer 2020 studio is busy for developing Outriders, but cultivating Bulletstorm 2 might be the next project for the Polish team, which will be a next-gen title.
