Borderlands 3 will get its first level cap increase, the developers will raise the maximum level of Vault Hunters from 50 to 53. This will give players three additional skill points to add to their skill trees allowing  players to enhance current builds or experiment with additional abilities.

Broken Hearts Day seasonal event is right around the corner, Maurice, Sanctuary III’s resident sentient Saurian, is hoping for some assist with his ongoing study of the human condition. Players will rewarded for completing Maurice’s challenges during this new seasonal event revealed on episode five of The Borderlands Show.

In the Borderlands 3 Hotfixes for January 30, Gearbox shared their plans for True Takedown Mode, this mode delivers an extreme difficulty by tuning the experience for a full party of four decked-out Vault Hunters. To access True Takedown Mode, simply activate the lever located on the right side of the door leading out of the airlock at the beginning of the map.

Mayhem Mode has also received attention, more “sweeping changes” are in the works for Mayhem 2.0, arriving in March. “We’re still fine-tuning some of its elements and will have a separate update on this in the future, focusing on how Mayhem 2.0 will impact Borderlands 3’s endgame experience.”

As we continue to develop new content, we’re always keeping an eye on balancing to ensure that Borderlands 3 continues to be enjoyed for years to come, much like previous Borderlands titles. We prefer to make buffs rather than nerfs. However, in the most extreme cases, we may step in to reduce the power level of weapons, gear, or skills that make competing options feel totally obsolete.

All changes are made to keep Borderlands 3 feeling fresh for newcomers and veterans alike. We strive to make your chosen Vault Hunter feel unique, powerful, and impactful across all levels, and we want to maintain the thrill of collecting gear for whatever new build you can come up with next.

Gearbox has also confirmed that the UI will get improved, the game will also receive an update to allow players to skip cutscenes.Gearbox and 2K also confirmed that future level cap increases are to arrive later.
