Dataminer Leaks Bethesda Big Announcement For The Elder Scrolls Online

The Elder Scroll Online website yesterday announced that on January 15 Creative Director Rich Lambert will make some announcements about what players can’t expect from ESO this year. But it appears a Russian dataminer found out what the big announcement is about. The leaker says a new chapter called Elsweyr is on the way. Elsweyr is the home of the Khajiit, a playable race of cat people.

Below is what it was posted yesterday on ESO’s website:

“The cat’s out of bag! Ready yourself, adventurer. A massive announcement for The Elder Scrolls Online is on the way! Find out how you can learn about the upcoming ESO Chapter and what’s coming to the game in 2019.

Tune in to Twitch.tv/Bethesda on Tuesday, January 15 at 5:00PM EST to be one of the first to learn about the next exciting adventure in The Elder Scrolls Online. Join us as Creative Director Rich Lambert announces what is coming to ESO in 2019 live to the world from the Twitch studio in San Francisco.”

It appears that Elsweyr will add a new character class to the game—Necromancers. Introducing a new class as part of a major chapter release would not be out of character for ESO as the Warden class arrived with the Morrowind chapter in 2017. The datamine doesn’t include any details on how the class will be configured but more information may be revealed during the Twitch broadcast.

Last but not least, there will be dragons. From the datamine, “ESO reaches new heights of storytelling with a war against the Dragons that unfolds and builds over four quarterly releases to an unexpected climax.” Not only do dragons appear to be inbound, but ESO is going large on storytelling by tying all four of their quarterly releases into one long story.
