Atomfall Gets New Trailer, Release Date Announced

Rebellion Developments announced that the upcoming survival action game Atomfall will launch on March 27 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Stores. A release date trailer was also released. It will also be available on Xbox Game Pass. Pre-orders are also available now for the Standard and Deluxe Editions. In Atomfall, you “explore the fictional quarantine zone, scavenge, craft, barter, fight and talk your way through a British countryside setting filled with bizarre characters, mysticism, cults, and rogue government agencies.”

Additional details via the developer:

Today we released the latest trailer for our forthcoming mystery adventure, Atomfall – which also revealed that the game will be coming out on March 27, 2025. Our friends at Xbox have invited me to share some extra details about the trailer, so let’s get started!

Featuring an original folk song, Atomfall’s new trailer showcases the game’s folk horror influences. Britain has a rich history of folk stories – with roots in ancient pagan myths. Players will find that these fantastical and haunting elements inform the atmosphere of Atomfall, alongside classic sci-fi influences like ‘Doctor Who’, ‘The Quatermass Experiment’ and ‘The Day of the Triffids’. This gives the game a unique feeling that blends a sense of awe one moment with a haunting chill the next.

The setting of this new trailer is the game’s Casterfell Woods location. It’s a far cry from the eccentric picture postcard village of Wyndham that players will have seen in our previous trailer. Instead, it is a wild and inhospitable place, underpinned by an immediately eerie vibe.

Deep within these woods, we see the player encounter a burning pyre, an unsettling wicker man, numerous fallen bodies, and a ringing telephone box that begs to be answered. The voice at the end of the phone line is one of Atomfall’s many mysteries that players will have to tackle if they are to get to the bottom of what happened at the Windscale nuclear plant all those years ago.

Finally, and very briefly, we reveal one of Casterfell Woods’ many sinister and dangerous residents. You never know who you might bump into during a walk in the woods…

Eagle-eyed viewers may notice a few other ‘Easter eggs’ scattered throughout the trailer too… let us know what you spot on our social channels @AtomfallGame.
