Assassin’s Creed Invictus Could Be Delayed Due to Awful Playtest Feedback

According to leaker xj0nathan on Twitter, based on recent playtests of Assassin’s Creed Invictus, he said he was told the game is “f**king awful” and could be delayed from its previously intended 2026 release window or potentially canceled. A recent report from Insider Gaming also corroborated that the playtest took place.

Assassin’s Creed Invictus is an upcoming multiplayer title in the franchise that has been delayed several times. It features several Assassins from across the series fighting one another in stages based on various locations throughout the franchise.

Ubisoft recently announced the long-rumored remake of Assassin’s Creed IV, titled Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. The publisher also revealed details on several upcoming titles, including Codename HEXE, Codename INVICTUS, and Assassin’s Creed Jade.
Additionally, according to another past Insider Gaming report, which cites anonymous sources, three projects previously “locked in” at the studio: Invictus, a multiplayer title; Obsidian, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Resynced scheduled to release later this year; and a third game codenamed Neo, also known as Hexe, which is now slated for release in 2027.
