Activision Blizzard held an earnings call for their fourth-quarter results, the publisher talked about the recent performance of their IPs and revealed their plans for the next financial year. Activision Blizzard plans to release a series of “Remasters and Re-Imaginings” of previous titles for 2020.

No titles where mentioned, but it will surely please fans as the publisher has a lot of solid titles that deserves a re-release for experience the games with better graphics, and certainly the re-imagining leads to believe that some games will have the remake treatment.

Activision Blizzard reported 17% declines in net revenues, which follows at 13% loss in FY 2019. Activision did saw a Q4 2019 increase in sales of 1% thanks to the success of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty Mobile. Reports The eSport Observer.

“Across console, PC, mobile and touchpoints like esports the momentum for Call of Duty could not be stronger,” … “And this success illustrates the larger opportunities we have across our diverse and large wholly-owned library of titles dating back to our founding 40 years ago. Having our franchises on all platforms in all geographies with a constant flow of content and leveraging the additional touchpoints we have available to us like esports and advertising, continues to be our focus.” said Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick.

World Of Warcraft Classic has somewhat outlined the path for the company to follow, the release of the MMO title has “doubled the size of active World of Warcraft community in the second half of 2019”.

Activision Blizzard has found a good strategy remaking and remastering games lately, games like Sypro the Dragon, Crash Bandicoot and Call of Duty have been solid releases and has been well received by both players and the critic. One release which flopped miserably was the recent re-imagining of Blizzard’s Warcraft III. Players reported a series of undesirables bugs and features removed from the game, players are not very happy in the way Blizzard has handled the situation. Warcraft III Reforged is now the worst rated game in Metacritic which says a lot.
