A Minecraft RTS Game Is Rumored to be in Development

According to video game journalist Giant Bomb reporter Jeff Gerstmann, Mojang Studios is reportedly working on a new Minecraft real-time strategy game, which, according to Gerstmann, is currently being tested under an undisclosed code name and that the game seems “unfinished” and is still in development. In the game, the player will reportedly take on Piglins, one of the mob enemies in Minecraft. It will also include a full story and cutscenes. Additionally, Gerstmann also explained that the game seemed far enough in the development process that an announcement for the game could be coming soon, perhaps during the upcoming Xbox and Bethesda showcase set for June 12.

Gerstmann stated:

“There’s a new Minecraft game in development, and I don’t know if this is something that is going to get announced at [the] Microsoft event, but there is a new Minecraft spin-off in the works.”
