Nintendo Direct + Treehouse Announced

Well, the last month has been an odd one for Nintendo. While the hype for E3 mounted so did the rumors that the Nintendo Switch Pro was going to have an official announcement. There are still a few weeks before the event so anything is possible. The latest rumor circulating puts the reveal tomorrow on Thursday. The reason for this is people suspect that Nintendo will use its E3 direct to showcase this upgraded system’s new power.

While we still have nothing on the Switch Pro front out of Nintendo what we do have is a date for their Nintendo Direct + Treehouse event. The event will take place on June 15th at 12:00 PM EST and will “roughly 40 minutes of info focused exclusively on Nintendo Switch software, mostly releasing in 2021″ followed by “around 3 hours of gameplay in Nintendo Treehouse Live”.

There are guesstimates to be made as to what will actually be showcased during the event. Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild 2 had been recently hyped by fans as a showcase of the Pro. Even if the Pro is not announced, given the trend of the last few years, it would not be a Nintendo Direct without Zelda present in some form. Recently a remaster of Skyword Sword, a remake of Link’s Awakening, and Spin off’s Candence of Hyrule and Hyrule Warriors have given the franchise little rest.

Bayonetta 3 is another game that is hopefully showcased. Announced during the VGA’s back in 2017 ‘quiet’ does not even begin to describe the game. While statements to remind us it exists have been made it has not been seen since. Similarly, Metroid Prime 4 has also vanished since its showing at E3 of 2017 as well. Again we know it exists, it’s just a question of if they show it.

It is safer to assume we will see some gameplay for Splatoon 3, Mario Golf: Super Rush, and Project Triangle Strategy. Since the event is focusing on things releasing around 2021, hopefully, this also leads to release dates for a few titles.
