XSEED localizing Corpse Party for 3DS

It seems that XSEED, the masters behind numerous cult-hit localizations has expressed interest in bringing the recently revealed 3DS Corpse Party game to the west.

Corpse Party: Blood Covered …Repeated Fear was announced earlier this week in Japanese print-magazine Famitsu. The game is an enhanced version of the PSP remake of the classic Corpse Party game. It is currently unclear if this new version will include additional content but is scheduled to launch in Japan over the summer.

Corpse Party is a survival horror video game developed by Team GrisGris using the RPG Maker Software in 1996. The PSP remake was later released in 2010 alongside a version for iOS, the game was released in both North America and Europe by Marvelous USA under the basic title of Corpse Party. XSEED were established in 2004 and have published Rune Factory Frontier, Little Kings Story, Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon, The Last Story & Pandora’s Tower to name a few.

“This is a survival-horror adventure game, in which players help high-school students escape from a haunted elementary school. From an over-head perspective, players explore the school and interact with various objects and characters. Some interactions can lead to sequences that depict acts of violence: a character repeatedly stabbed with a pair of scissors; a character stabbed with a knife.”
