Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds Expansion Launches November 7
The first expansion for Horizon: Zero Dawn, “The Frozen Wilds,” will launch on November 7 for $19.99, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced.
Horizon is the fifth best-selling game of the year in the U.S. so far, according to The NPD Group. An expansion like this can give Sony a way to earn some more money from those who bought it.
Sony is giving out a Horizon: Zero Dawn avatar for the PlayStation 4 for anyone who preorders the expansion.
The Frozen Wilds contains additional content for Horizon Zero Dawn, including new storylines, characters and experiences in a intriguing new area.
“Beyond the northern mountains, the borderlands of the Banuk tribe challenge all who dare enter to survive the extremes,” the official description teases.
“But now this frozen wilderness harbours a new threat, and for Aloy, a new mystery – one she’s determined to solve.”

Horizon Zero Dawn comes to us from Sony Interactive Entertainment and Guerrilla Games. Earlier this summer, New Game+ was added, allowing players to relive the adventures of Aloy without losing their character progression and collected inventory. The level 50 cap is still in effect, but XP can still be collected. Updated versions of existing weapons and outfits with an extra modification slot have been added, as well as new face paints for Aloy and two new trophies. We also got the Ultra Hard difficulty setting, which enhances machine senses and behavior, and limits player health regeneration
