7th Dragon III: Code VFD Battle System Trailer

It’s been a little while since we last heard about 7th Dragon III code:VFD, but we finally have a brand new trailer to discover. The first two focused on the timelines and character creation, but this one is all about one of the central elements of the game (and of any RPG, really): the battle system.

As you probably know if you’ve already checked our previous posts about the game, 7th Dragon III code:VFD uses a turn-based battle system. Naturally, there’s some elements to spice things up, and which are pretty much required to get rid of the dangerous dragons that threaten mankind.

The latest trailer for the game showcases those very elements, which are:

  • Support Abilities: you can go explore the dungeons with up to 9 characters. Some of them are back-up characters, and only take part into battle to support the main fighters. During backup turn, they use their skills to support the main fighters by increasing their attack/defense, heal their HP, and more;
  • Buddy Skills: special combination attacks;
  • Unison Skills: all the characters attack at once. Pretty powerful skills you can use to deal the final blow.

Check out the Trailer:

“It is also possible to call upon one member from the additional teams for a buddy skill. After a certain number of turns have passed, you can team one of these reserve party members with an active one to break through an enemy’s defense.”
