2DS price dropped to $79

Nintendo will permanently drop the price of its 2DS handheld from $99.99 to $79.99 starting May 20, the company announced. Some systems even come with Mario Kart 7 pre-installed.

The system, which plays 3DS games in 2D, first launched in October 2013.

In addition to the price drop, Nintendo announced it will release Style Savvy: Fasion Forward on August 19 and Disney Magical World 2 on October 14. Both titles were previously unconfirmed for North America.

Check out the Spot:

“Nintendo 2DS launched in October 2013 and is part of the Nintendo 3DS family of systems. The system comes with fun built-in entertainment options and applications to take photos and videos, plus wireless access to Nintendo eShop for those with Internet access. The unique design is built to make it easy for smaller hands to hold. The system includes two screens (including a touch screen) and plays Nintendo 3DS games, plus nearly all Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi games in 2D.”
