The extensive Nintendo Direct showcase revealed tons of new announcements for the Switch console, including plenty of surprising and not-so surprising announcements. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 released almost 2 years ago for the Switch and delighted many JRPG fans everywhere. Now those fans who were introduced to the series with the sequel will have the option experience the debut title in the series on the Switch without having to jump back onto their outdated Wii system.
The sequel also received a lengthy expansion call Torna – The Golden Country which acts as a prequel to the entire sequel. For now, there seems to be plenty of Xenoblade action to experience on the Switch console, which makes for a solid future for the riveting JRPG adventure.
There’s also a Wii-U exclusive version called Xenoblade Chronicles X which added a variety of new features to the already stellar experience. Hopefully there are plans include the X version either in the Defintive Edition or a separate release later down the line, so Switch owners can expereince everything the Xenoblade Chronicles series has to offer.
There’s no official release date announced for the Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition other than a 2020 release date.
