505 Games’ parent company, Digital Bros, has announced that it has acquired the IP rights to Wuchang: Fallen Feathers for €4 million, following the previously reported development issues the title and developer Leenzee were facing. This means the studio no longer owns the IP and will no longer receive any future royalties from sales. It is worth noting that the game has sold over one million units so far and has generated over €30 million in revenue.
According to a recent report from Gamersky, the team behind developer Leenzee’s Wuchang: Fallen Feathers has been laid off. This reportedly occurred after the studio was dissatisfied with the game’s reception. The game’s director, Xia Siyuan, is among those affected. The report also claims that some employee salaries have not yet been paid and that legal action is being considered. Additionally, the studio had planned additional content for the game, but with the team’s departure, its release is unlikely. Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is available now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store.
