Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood – First Trailer

The first trailer for Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood was revealed by Cyanide’s game director at PDXCon on Saturday.

W:TA – Earthblood saw its first presentation at E3 earlier this year, and attendees of PDXCon were treated to a full reveal of the game, including its very first trailer. Fans were given a sneak peek at the long-exiled werewolf Cahal, who has returned to his endangered tribe. Sometimes wolf, sometimes human, Cahal transforms into a werewolf form when consumed by his inner rage, releasing the beast within. As a central element of the game, the Rage mechanic requires players to learn how to control it in order to master it, offering an immersive challenge.

Following the trailer’s reveal, Patch, Cyanide’s games director, gave more details on the game and its characteristics. A big fan of the pen-and-paper game Werewolf: The Apocalypse, Patch is the driving force for the project within Cyanide. Carrying over all the main aspects of the pen-and-paper version, W:TA – Earthblood is set in a mature universe, overflowing with current topics and issues, such as the destruction of nature by man and their machines. Endron, the oil-producing subsidiary of the multinational conglomerate Pentex is installing an extraction site, destroying the forest around a sanctuary for Cahal’s tribe.

Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood is the first action-RPG adapted from the eponymous tabletop game. Brutal, mature, complex, it invites the player to embody Cahal, living within his mind throughout his quest of bloody redemption. The once-exiled werewolf is slated to play an essential role in the war brewing between the Garous and Pentex, whose activities are devastating the natural world.

W:TA – Earthblood releases for PS4, Xbox One, and PC sometime in 2020.
