Among the group of exciting announcements from Microsoft at the Xbox showcase this week was Warhammer 40K : Dark Tide. Like Warhammer Vermintide, it will be a 4 player co-op adventure/shooter. However, it looks like this game puts a focus on guns and a more futuristic environment.
“From the developers of the best-selling and award-winning franchise Vermintide, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is a visceral 4-player co-op action game set in hive Tertium. Fight together with your friends against hordes of enemies in this new Warhammer 40,000 experience.”
The game will be arriving on Xbox Series X and PC as a next-gen exclusive title, although a release date has not been announced yet. The title will also be available on the Xbox Game Pass.
The Vermintide series was met with positive response from critics and fans alike, and sold over 2 million copies worldwide. Darktide is an exciting addition to the series because it will welcome a new wave of FPS fans, and it will be a unique experience built for next-gen technology.
Other games to be announced at the Xbox showcase includes a new Fable game, Everwild, a new fantasy IP, as well as new details about the much anticipated Halo Infinite. Fans can count on more announcements to follow, and fans can also look forward to the release of Xbox Series X later this year.
Xbox Boss Phil Spencer has also confirmed that they will be implementing Smart Delivery across Xbox One and Xbox Series X. Games to have been confirmed for smart delivery include Destiny 2, Cyberpunk 2077, and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
